Painting Adventure

I've never taken up art or painting with different colors, but now that I live in a house, FINALLY...I'm painting. I started just yesterday with Nick's/Guest bathroom. I decided to go a little more modern in there cause I have to think about Nick's masculinity yet still have to be accommodating to guests. I went with GRAY in his bathroom. I know it sounds blah and dull but I got my Aunt Shannon's opinion and I totally trust her judgement. She seemed to love it. Here's a sneak peak of the color. I will post more pics when I'm totally finished.

Walking for Mamaw

Well, I've decided to do something amazing this year. That is to run a marathon. Most of you know, I'm not athletic, a little on the chunky side and have never ran a marathon in my life. A good friend encouraged me to do this and my first thoughts were, "is she crazy and why does she have faith I can do this cause I can't", but she was persistent about it and her faith in me gave myself faith. Selfishly, I'm doing the marathon for myself, but I'm not totally a selfish person so running a marathon and raising money for a charity gets me pumped. I'm so excited I've decided to be apart of this. I'll be running 13.1 miles in October (remind you, I can't even run a full 1 mile yet), in San Francisco for Team in Training. They raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I'M GOING TO DO IT :)

Since I've decided to do that marathon, I've been encouraged to do a few more things. My first step to the big marathon will be the Arthritis Walk here in Houston on May 22. My mamaw was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis years ago (I feel like she's had it as long as I've been alive). So I'm dedicating this walk to her. She lives in pain everyday and has crippled fingers and many more effects from the arthritis. In order to do the walk, we must raise a minimum of $100. I need help doing so and of course...anything raised over that will just tickle my pickle (I just made that up hehe).

The most young and beautiful 81 year old

I mentioned below that I had family over for my mamaw's 81st birthday on Sunday February 21, 2010. I had to post a picture of her excited about devouring the cake. She holds a piece of my heart and I cherish every year she is here :)

Wild Horses

For those of you who don't know, we inherited 9 miniture horses and 3 donkeys from Nick's parents when they moved to Arkansas. We love the experience because for the most part, they are pretty wild. To me though, they aren't all that wild because they still come up to me and eat carrots out of my hands and want me to pet them, etc. I just really enjoy them the more time I spend with them and hoping that one day that all of them will allow us to put halters on them so that we can walk them out of the pasture.

Well, we had some of my family over on Sunday February 21 for my mamaw's 81st birthday. To my surprise, my brother and cousins Josh and Matt, along with my papa are quite the horse trainers. LOL They actually got halters on 2 of our horses, Lil Mama and Laura Lei. After the halters were put on, we decided to walk them out of the pasture and into our yard. And then to top it off, we were actually able to put my cousin Tabitha's little boys on Laura Lei. It was awesome!

This is Hunter on Laura Lei. Hunter is 2 and really enjoying the back ride.

We are totally new to this blog thing, but I love it. I've read people's blogs from the past and really enjoyed it. Don't know if our lives are as exciting but I figured I'd give this a shot. Nick's parents, brother and nephew moved to Arkansas in 09 and we miss seeing them everyday so hopefully this will be a good way for them to stay connected to us and our busy everyday life. I do have a few things I can write about for the upcoming future but this is all for right now because I really should be working :) So, here's to starting the blog world.
